On May 19, the CCTV Financial Channel's "China Economic Lecture Hall" series invited Lian Yubo, an expert from the National Key R&D Program "New Energy Vehicles" major special group and Chief Scientist of BYD, to deliver an in-depth speech on "China's New Energy Vehicles Shaping the 'Three Electrics' Industrial Chain."
During the presentation, Lian Yubo emphasized that power devices are one of the most crucial components in the motor controllers of new energy vehicles, and SiC power devices are a necessary choice for high-performance models. BASiC Semiconductor's SiC MOSFETs, SiC power modules, representing domestically produced SiC power devices, were showcased in the program, highlighting the technological prowess of Chinese SiC enterprises.
Since 2017, BASiC Semiconductor has started to layout the research & development and production of automotive SiC power devices. It has now mastered SiC core technologies such as chip design, wafer fabrication, packaging test, and driver circuits. The automotive SiC power modules independently developed by BASiC Semiconductor have been designated by nearly 20 vehicle OEMs and Tier1 motor controllers manufacturers for over 30 vehicle models, that make BASiC Semiconductor become one of the leading companies in the domestic mass production of SiC modules. The Pcore™6 automotive SiC power modules have been mass-produced and applied in several car models such as GAC AION and SAIC IM, significantly enhancing the overall vehicle energy efficiency and ensuring a stable and efficient operation of the automotive motor drive systems.
